In 1914, Egytienne Cigarettes sought to distinguish their tobacco products by creating an in-pack premium that was wildly different from the baseball and non-sport cards of the era. What we are left with is a less-common issue with 90 different players represented on small, wool blankets. These were often sewn together into larger pillow cases or blankets, as intended. The offered group of 12 different examples (all with white infields) of this sought-after tobacco-era issue includes: Adams (Pittsburgh), Burns (Detroit), Burns (New York N.L.), Gibson (Pittsburgh), Hyatt (Pittsburgh), Kelley (Pittsburgh), Konetchy (Pittsburgh), J. Miller (St. Louis), Mowrey (Pittsburgh), Shotton (St. Louis), Tyler (Boston N.L.), Walsh (St. Louis). The blankets present Excellent condtion in appearance, but could be considered Very Good to Excellence with the mild staining on some of them.
