Baseball Magazine was founded by Boston sportwriter Jake Morse. Morse stated that his mission in starting it was to "fill the need of a monthly organ filled with the highest thought surrounding the game, well edited, well printed, and filled with first class illustrations." The magazine also strove to provide human interest stories about baseball stars, such as Ty Cobb and Christy Mathewson. F.C. Lane became the magazine's editor in 1911 and remained in that post until 1937. This collection includes 47 copies with some great covers: 1924-March (Eddie Collins); 1926-February, June, July; 1927-January (Ty Cobb), July, September (Lou Gehrig); 1929-April, June, December (Connie Mack); 1930-April, July, August, September, October; 1921-April, May, June, August (Rabbit Maranville), October; 1932-January, February; 1933-March, April, September (Walter Johnson), November, December (Carl Hubbell); 1934-January (Babe Ruth), May; 1935-September (Mel Ott), July; 1936-April, June; 1937-February, December (Charlie Gehringer); 1938-April; 1939-February (Bob Feller); 1940-December; 1942-January (Lou Boudreau); 1943-February, July; 1944-January; 1945-March, June, August; 1946-March, July, August. This group suffers from extensive condition issues. Very Good condition overall, with many lesser.
