This is very presentable example of Elvis Presley's first 45 RPM record "That's All Right" and "Blue Moon of Kentucky." Identified as Sun 209, the song was famously recorded and released only weeks later in the whirlwind that was the beginning of Elvis' storied career. This particular copy of the single is defined as a Memphis pressing because of the small, circular indentations in the labels on both sides. These are holes in the stamped vinyl created by the master stamper made from acetate struck on the Presto brand lathe Sam Phillips used at the time in his studio. Later copies without these so-called "delta" marks (there are three of them that form a triangle, or the Greek letter "delta") were stamped at other plants in Los Angeles and Philadelphia. The 45 has the proper matrix numbers in the dead wax areas of both sides, with “U-128-45 72” marked on side A and “U-129-45 72” marked on side B. The single is accompanied by its original brown paper sleeve. While the record presents with a very small nick on the inner edge of the vinyl and moderate areas of use-related wear in the form of scuffs and scratches, the label is intensely bold and bright. An exemplary copy that presents at a much higher level than its technical grade. VG+ condition.
