The offered pair of Jantzen brand swim trunks belonged to Elvis Presley until he gave them to longtime confidant and Memphis Mafia member Marty Lacker. The size "36" trunks would have seen a ton of aquatic action at Graceland and Elvis' California homes. Marty eventually sold the swim trunks to Mike Moon in 1981, and they remained on display at Mike's Pigeon Forge, Tennessee Elvis Museum for nearly 40 years (see photo at left of the trunks on display). The accompanying copy of the the original August 22, 1981, bill of sale between Marty and Mike Moon lists 10 items in the exchange, plus some of Richard Davis' items in the deal. The offered trunks are first on the list and described as "Blue & white swim suit." Mike Moon's collection was the stuff of legend, and as evidenced by the bill of sale here from 1981, Mike began assembling material at the most advanced level years before almost anyone was thinking about it. His passion created a treasure trove of unique artifacts that have become available in recent years. Also included is a letter from Chris Davidson who purchased the majority of Mike's collection in 2018. The trunks present with signs of heavy use, but remain intact including the drawstring. Excellent condition.
