The offered news service photo captures Elvis prowling backstage at The International Hotel in August of 1969, during his triumphant return to live performing. The bold contrast of the photo accentuates just what great shape Elvis was in for that very first "Summer Festival" of shows. The stampings on the reverse include one marked "4/73" for "TV and MOVIE SCREEN," as well as one marked "10 78" for "TV PICTURE LIFE," which could be another similar publication where the photo was used at a later date. Included with the lot is a photo copy of the spread from the April 1973 TV and Movie Screen showing Elvis with Ann-Margret and her husband Roger Smith. The magazine actually printed the photo of Elvis reversed to make it look like he was interacting with the couple--in true tabloid fashion! The photo measures 7 x 9 3/4 inches and presents with expected newsroom markings, is mounted on art board for production purposes and exhibits mild edge wear. Near Mint condition.
