Offered is a Sahara Tahoe Security Supervisor badge with a central State of Nevada enameled seal given to Sonny West from Elvis Presley. Elvis played at the Sahara Tahoe extensively in the 1970s. The gold-toned badge is housed in a custom leather case with a protective felt cover and identification window pocket that retains Sonny West’s original Douglas County Employment Certificate from 1976 listing his personal details and address at PO Box C, Stateline, Nevada and his employer as Sahara-Tahoe. The card is signed by Sonny West on the reverse. This official security supervisor badge comes with a letter from Sonny West on TCB gold embossed stationery dated July 12, 2000 that states:
This letter is to confirm the authenticity of a badge that was given to me by Elvis Presley and the head of security at the Sahara Tahoe in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. When Elvis would get security badges for himself, he would often get one for Red and I. After receiving his badge, he would then personally present Red and myself our badges. This particular badge is a Sahara Tahoe Hotel Security Badge with the rank Supervisor. There is also an identification card from the Hotel that accompanies the badge.
The leather case measures 4 1/2 by 3 1/4 inches, the badge measure 2 1/4 by 1 1/2 inches and the set is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated. Excellent condition.
