Offered is a group or 20 studio-issued 8 x 10 photos from six films starring (or co-starring) Marilyn Monroe. The films and quantities included are: Don't Bother to Knock (1952) (3); Ladies of the Chorus (1952) (1); Monkey Business (1952) (4); Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (1953) (3); How to Marry a Millionaire (1953) (7); and Bus Stop (1956) (2). This group covers the early days of Marilyn's career into her ascension as a superstar. Studio photographs were issued through the National Screen Service with movie posters and other promotional materials, as well as with press kits for the media. They were often issued in groups of 10 or even 20 different scenes. Theaters would often display any number of them in their lobbies. These photos were 8 x 10 inches, but all the photos in this group have been trimmed to roughly 7 1/4 x 10 inches, effectively removing the titles and credits that were on the bottom. A couple remain untouched. Otherwise, the photos present with few major distresses. Technically Very Good condition, but the images themselves present beautifully.
