Collection of Four George Burke Original News Service Photographs of Nellie Fox, Moe Berg and Charlie Berry

The offered group are original photos from the studios of George Burke, and the studio of he and his later partner George Brace. The two 8x 10 inch photos are of Chicago White Sox great Nellie Fox, with the back stamping that reads "Burke & Brace, Photo / 2638 No. Drake Ave. Chicago 47, ILL." Based on the uniform Fox is wearing, one photo was taken in 1950, his first year with the White Sox. The second photo is most-likely from the mid-1950s. The Moe Berg photo measures 4 x 6 inches and was taken in his first season with the Boston Red Sox, 1935--Boston's road uniforms had piping on the edges starting in 1936. The reverse has heavy remnants of album mounting still adhered. The Charlie Berry photograph measures 4 x 6 inches and was taken in the mid-1930s when he finished his career with the Philadelphia Athletics. Though pictured with other teams from their careers, both Berg and Berry played for the White Sox at one time or another. Excellent to Mint condition overall.
