Offered is a touching personal letter from singer Eddie Cantor to Ray Bolger, famous for his role as the Scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz. The January 7, 1942, letter, on Cantor's personal stationary, reads “This is a belated thank you for your graciousness last Sunday night at the Hollywood Theatre. Of course we all know you are the greatest dancer around buy Mrs. Cantor and I love you fo rthe nice things you said about me. It warmed my heart. It makes the carryin on so much easier. Here's a kiss in gratitude.” Cantor simply signed “Eddie.” He was in the middle of a long run of his musical Banjo Eyes at that time, at The Hollywood Theatre, and Bolger was at the Paramount Theatre in New York, working with the Harry James Band. The original mailing envelope is also included. Accompanied by a COA from Beckett Authentic. The letter measures 7 ¼ x 10 inches and presents in stunning Near Mint to Mint condition.
