Offered is an ornate leather Bible cover given to Elvis Presley from his girlfriend Linda Thompson. The beautiful cover is monogrammed in gilt with "E.P." on the cover. The front and back cover feature highly detailed embossed artwork of an ancient church choir. Elvis was a voracious reader of spiritual texts, and The Bible was one he went to the most. The accompanying letter from Billy Smith reads: “This book cover was bought for Elvis by Linda Thompson, Elvis gave the cover to Billy Smith, his first cousin. It has the initials E.P. On the top edge of the cover.” Billy Smith has signed the letter and it was notarized on November 5, 1979. The bible cover measures 7 ¼ x 9 ½ inches and presents with minor wear and one small separation to the leather bookmark. Excellent condition.
