Offered is a relic from a bygone political era when political candidates still did "whistle stop" campaign tours via railroad. Senator Richard Nixon, the Republican Vice Presidential nominee for the 1952 Presidential campaign, has signed the front of this "1952 Campaign Tour" menu "Dick Nixon," and his wife, and future First Lady, has signed "Pat Nixon" right above him. The menu was produced by the "New Haven Railroad," and was most-likely used at a campaign fundraising event in one of the New England states which the railroad serviced. The menu is accompanied by an “Official Program” for the January 21, 1957, Presidential Inauguration of Dwight D. Eisenhower. While its original envelope has suffered some distresses, the program itself is unsullied by time, with the only stain on it bound paper cover. Near Mint condition. The menu is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Beckett Authentic. The menu measures 8 ½ x 11 inches and presents with moderate to heavy staining in a broad section along the borders from improper storage. The signatures are mostly unaffected, but the staining continues on the inside and reverse. Very Good to Excellent condition technically, but the signatures are still bold in blue ink.
