Offered is a group of five condolence appreciation cards and their original "Mrs. John F. Kennedy" envelopes from the desk of First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy. They emanate from the collection of Kennedy secretary Mary Gallagher. Each card bares the Kennedy family coat of arms with the message "Mrs. Kennedy is deeply appreciative of your sympathy and grateful for your thoughtfulness." The group is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Gallagher which reads:

These were Mrs. Kennedy's personal card with accompanying envelopes, edged in black, with the Kennedy Coat-of-Arms that were sent out following the President's assassination. Each card states, "Mrs. Kennedy is deeply appreciative of your sympathy and grateful for your thoughtfulness." This is to serve as proof of authenticity regarding the above item. Since acquiring these, they have remained in my possession at my home in Alexandria, Virginia. I was formerly secretary to Senator John F. Kennedy (1953-1956) and Personal Secretary to Mrs. John F. Kennedy (1956-1964). In 1960, My Life with Jacqueline Kennedy was published by David McKay, N.Y., relating to my twelve years with the Kennedys.

Impeccable provenance for a truly significant group of historical artifacts. Each card measures 5 1/4 x 3 3/4 inches. Near Mint to Mint condition overall.
