Iconic Ted Williams Coca-Cola Advertising Poster, circa 1950

The offered Coca-Cola advertising poster features Ted Williams, but hobby history tells us these wonderful, iconic broadsides were most-likely never distributed to retailers. A small number of these were found in the early 1980s, and while a few were later autographed by Williams, there have been anecdotal reports that he eventually stopped signing them because he was never paid by Coca-Cola. A mystery, perhaps, but it is more likely that the sometimes haughty Williams may have backed out of the deal or simply not signed the contract. We'll never know. Regardless, the whole affair has left us with a wonderful period Coca-Cola advertising pieces, featuring one of the greatest hitters in Major League history. The poster measures 13 ½ x 21 ½ inches and presents with some age-related toning, minor edge wear and bright, bold colors. Excellent to Mint condition.
