1983 was the year legendary Chicago broadcaster Jack Brickhouse was given the Ford C. Frick Award from the Baseball Hall of Fame. The induction prompted many other awards to be presented to Jack in celebration of his career, including the offered plaque from the Borden Company. The award reads "In Appreciation for Your Support to Professional Baseball / may 1983." Brickhouse's career spanned more than 35 years, and he worked in every aspect of Chicago sports. His broadcasting jobs included manning the mic for the Chicago Cubs (1948-81), Chicago White Sox, Chicago Bears (1953-77) and several historic prize fights. The award measures 11 x 15 inches and presents in Near Mint to Mint condition.
