The offered November 17, 1961, letter on her personal stationary is signed by Joan Crawford and references the TV show she was working on, as well as the recent passing of the actor Marion Davies. The show was The DuPont Show of the Week, a television anthology drama series which aired for three seasons on NBC from September 17, 1961 to August 30, 1964. She was the host of an episode called "The Ziegfeld Touch." The letter reads:

Dear Bob, I am so delighted that you enjoyed 'The Ziegfeld Touch". Your letters pleased me more than you will ever know, and thank you so much for taking time to write to me. Yes, isn't is sad about Marion Davies. She was a wonderful human being and a dear friend. I do hope you find a job to your liking very soon. Do let me know if you receive and favorable offers in Florida. Bless you, and I do hope you have a very happy Thanksgiving. Joan.

Davies died of cancer, after a decade of serious health issues, on September 22, 1961, in Hollywood, California. Her funeral at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Hollywood was attended by over 200 mourners and many Hollywood celebrities, including her friends Mary Pickford, Harold Lloyd, Charles "Buddy" Rogers, Glenn Ford, Kay Williams, and Johnny Weissmuller. Accompanied by a COA from Beckett Authentic. The letter measures 6 1/4 x 7 inches and presents with mild toning. Near Mint condition.
