The offered "Versus" brand Italian-made shirt was owned by Prince and given to the General Manager of his Glam Slam nighclubs in Minneapolis, Los Angeles and Miami, Paul Pudlitzke. The "Versus" brand was developed by Prince's friend Donatella Versace, and is considered a "diffusion line" of the main Versace Brand. The beautiful and sleek shirt would have gracefully draped off of Prince's slender frame to create an elegant, nighttime look. Mr. Pudlitzke worked for Prince for many years, and continued to work for Gilbert Davison when Davison purchased the Glam Slam nightclubs from Prince. He passed away in 2016, and his brother has provided the accompanying "Letter of Provenance" which reads in part:
My name is Mark Pudlitzke and I am the Court appointed Executor for the estate of my brother, Paul Pudlitzke, who passed away in June 2016. My brother worked for entertainer Prince commencing in 1990 and eventually became the General Manager for all three of Prince's Glam Slam nightclubs in Minneapolis, Los Angeles and Miami. Prince performed at Glam Slam North many times over the years entertaining fans with a variety of material normally prior to an upcoming tour...I am liquidating Paul's estate which includes personal items given to my brother by Prince...This Versace Versus black long sleeve shirt was given to my brother, Paul Pudlitzke. This shirt has been sold and is now in the possession of collector, Chris Davidson." The letter is dated July 25, 2017.
The shirt measures 29 inches long and 19 inches between shoulder seams. It presents with no distresses and signs of minor wear. Near Mint condition.
