Offered is an RIAA Gold Record Award for Elvis Presley's 1970 LP Elvis: That’s the Way It Is presented to "ELVIS PRESLEY." Elvis Presley recorded at RCA Nashville’s legendary Studio B in June 1970. Most of the songs would be performed in the concert film Elvis: That’s the Way It Is. The album accompanied the release of the film, and while not technically a soundtrack album with its eight studio tracks, it did include four live-concert songs from the International Hotel that August. The album was released on November 11, 1970. The 1970 MGM documentary film, directed by Denis Sanders, filmed Elvis’ performances on August 10, 11, 12 and 13, 1970.

The soundtrack album for the film of the same title reached number 21 on the Billboard charts, 8 on the country charts and was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America on June 28, 1973. This framed award displays a plaque, next to a small image of the album cover and mounted beneath the gold record, that reads “Presented to ELVIS PRESLEY to commemorate the sale of more than one million dollars worth of the RCA RECORDS long-playing record album ‘ELVIS – THAT’S THE WAY IT IS,’” all set against a white linen matte background. The reverse bears the framing label from New York Frame & Picture Co. on 29 John Street in New York. The framed award measures 21 1/2 by 17 1/2 inches and presents with mild, even toning in the matte area. Excellent to Mint condition.
