Elvis in Concert was certified Gold and Platinum by the RIAA on October 14, 1977, just 13 days after its release. The offered Gold Record Award hails from a slightly later period in the 1980s, based on the style, and its plaque reads: “Presented To Elvis Presley to Commemorate the Sale of More Than 500,000 Copies of the RCA Records Long-Playing Record Album 'Elvis in Concert.'” After the untimely passing of Elvis in August 1977, RCA released a television special and album both entitled Elvis in Concert. Concerts in Omaha, Nebraska and Rapid City, South Dakota in June 1977 were recorded for the two projects, and the tracks for the live album were taken from those recordings. Renewed interest in Elvis' music spurred the album into the top 5 on the U.S. album charts. The award measures 17 x 21 inches and presents with only very minor wear to the wooden frame. Near Mint condition.
