Offered is an RIAA Gold Record Award for Elvis Presley's 1977 LP Moody Blue. Elvis’ last studio album was a combination of studio and live recordings. The tracks consist of studio recordings from February and October 1976 and the live material was from Elvis' Ann Arbor, Michigan concert on April 24 and 26, 1977. Elvis did not have enough studio recordings to fill an album so the live tracks were added. Sales of the album soared after Elvis died, and the album was certified Gold and Platinum by RIAA on September 12, 1977. The offered award was most-likely produced in the early 1980s, based on the design style. The award's plaque reads "Presented to Elvis Presley to commemorate the sale of more than 500,000 copies of the RCA RECORDS long-playing record album ‘MOODY BLUE.’” The award measures 17 ½ x 21 ½ inches and present with only mild scuffs to the gold painted frame. Near Mint condition.
