The offered RIAA Gold Record Award was presented for Prince's 1991 Single "Cream," from the 1991 Prince and New Power Generation LP Diamonds and Pearls. The single was released on September 9, 1991, with its b-side, "Horny Pony." "Cream" hit number one and stayed there for two weeks in November 1991. Diamonds and Pearls produced several hit singles, including "Gett Off", "Cream", "Money Don't Matter 2 Night", "Insatiable", and the title track.

"Cream" was certified gold by the RIAA on January 16, 1992, and the offered award was produced at that time, based on the style. The award's plaque reads "Presented to PRINCE to Commemorate the Sale of More Thank 1,000,000 copies of the Paisley Park Records Single Record 'Cream.'"

The award measures 13 x 17 inches and presents with little to no wear. Near Mint to Mint condition.
