Offered is an RIAA Gold Record Award for The Rolling Stones Single “Ruby Tuesday” - "Presented to Brian Jones." The single was released on January 13, 1967, and the song was certified Gold by the RIAA on May 1, 1967, and the offered award is an early "white matte" version of the award produced in the period. The song became the band's fourth number-one hit in the United States and reached number three in the United Kingdom as a double A-side with "Let's Spend the Night Together". The song was included in the American version of Between the Buttons (in the UK, singles were often excluded from studio albums). Jones, founder of the Rolling Stones, sadly passed just two years later at the age of 27. The plaque on the award reads "PRESENTED TO BRIAN JONES OF THE ROLLING STONES TO COMMEMORATE THE SALE OF MORE THAN ONE MILLION COPIES OF THE LONDON RECORDS POP SINGLE RECORD 'RUBY TUESDAY'". The award measures 13 x 17 inches and presents with just minor wear to the wooden frame. Near Mint to Mint condition.
