The offered RIAA Quadruple Platinum record award is for Mötley Crüe's 1985 LP Theatre of Pain. The album was released on June 21, 1985, and initially certified gold in August of that year. The album was eventually certified 4X platinum on June 5, 1995. The offered platinum record award was created at that time. The award plaque reads "PRESENTED OT Mötley Crüe TO COMMEMORATE THE SALE OF MORE THAN 4,000,000 COPIES OF THE ELEKTRA RECORDS ALBUM, CASSETTE &CD 'THEATRE OF PAIN'". The album marked the beginning of the band's transition away from the traditional heavy metal sound of Too Fast for Love and Shout at the Devil, towards a more glam metal style. The award measures 17 x 21 inches and presents in Near Mint condition.
