Dick Perez Pen and Ink and Pencil Artwork Collection

This auction presents an offering of 12 lots of legendary baseball artist Dick Perez's interesting and intimate pen and ink and pencil artworks. The group may present as a departure from what collectors usually expect to see from Dick's trademark style, so full of color. But these drawings see a quieter, more considered artist at work--searching for an essence, seeking to capture a subject in just the right light and mood. Enjoy this access to a unique group of special artworks from Dick Perez.

Dick Perez's rendition of Chicago White Sox Hall of Famer Ray Schalk captures him in his prime for the Sox of the late 1910s and early 1920s. An innocent victim of his teammates chicanery in the 1919 World Series, Schalk remained above reproach concerning the scandal. The artwork measures 9 x 12 inches and presents in Near Mint to Mint condition.
