Twilight Zone creator Rod Serling signed the offered letter on the day it was mailed, June 24, 1961. It was sent to Zukor-Forsher Productions concerning Mr. Serling's inability to participate on their TV show “It's Up to You,” a game show pilot featuring high school student members of the organization Junior Achievement that would pitch their inventions to a real business person and a celebrity whose identities were hidden from them. Adolph Zukor, Jr., of the legendary Hollywood Zukors, partnered in the endeavor with Trude Forsher, who had previously been the personal secretary to Elvis Presley and his manager Colonel Tom Parker. The letter emanates from Mrs. Forsher's estate. The letter reads “Dear Mr. Zukor, Thank you for your letter of July 19th. Unfortunately, I'm back here for only a two week period to finish shooting the host spots on The Twilight Zone. I'm off to the East again next week and will be there throughout August. If you would drop me a line after September 1st, assuming that this is not too late to tape a show as you described, I should be delighted to comply. Cordially, Rod Serling.” Mr. Serling has signed in blue ball point pen on the “The Twilight Zone” letterhead. Also included is the original “Cayuga Productions, Inc.” mailing envelope. This piece is a wonderful convergence of a Rod Serling signature on a letter where he directly references The Twilight Zone and his role as the host--incredible. The letter is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Beckett Authentic. The letter presents with two hole-punch holes at the top from filing, but otherwise has suffered little distress save a few wrinkles, creases and its original mailing folds. Excellent to Mint condition.
