Offered is “RINGSIDE $200” ticket stub for the September 28, 1976, World Heavyweight Championship fight at Yankee Stadium between Muhammad Ali and Ken Norton. This was the third and final fight between the two boxers, with Ali taking two of the bouts. This final battle went the distance, with Ali coming away with a controversial unanimous decision. Ali himself thought the judges gave him a highly favorable decision, and Norton felt just plain robbed when it was all said in done. Later analysis of the fight indicated that Norton landed more punches, a much higher percentage of his punches and more “power” punches. The program for this fight is also available in this auction, in the following lot. The offered ticket would have put a fan right near the ring for the whole sordid affair. The ticket measures 4 7/8 x 1 ¾ inches and presents with some fading but a neat tear at the perforation. Excellent to Mint condition.
