Offered is a trio of remarkable survivors from the earliest days of movies featuring the first Western star, William S. Hart. In point of fact, two of the three were news service photos produced to promote his stage work before and during his film career. The earlier dates from 1910, in the middle of Hart's successful stage career and four years before his first film in 1914. The second news service photo has several notations on the back, including for the stage shows The Cold Dick and The Great Unknown, and one date stamp of "JUL 23 1918". The final photo, date stamped "AUG 2 1919", was produced by Artcraft Studios to promote Hart's 1919 film Wagon Tracks. The cabinet stock photo measures 8 1/4 x 10 3/4 and presents Excellent to Mint condition; the two other photos measure 8 1/4 x 10 inches and present Excellent to Mint condition.
