1915 Original News Service Photo (PSA/DNA Type III) of ROOKIE ERA Babe Ruth and His Wife

PSA/DNA Type III Keystone View Co. photograph. Accompanied by PSA/DNA Type III letter of authenticity. The Comments on the LOA reads “Rookie Season. Photo is a period example that was made from a dulicate negative by Keystone featuring an image taken of Ruth and his wife Helen Woodford by Underwood & Underwood in 1915.” On the reverse is written in pencil “Mr. & Mrs. 'Babe' Ruth,” and in grease pencil the number “27603.” The photo captures Ruth in his earliest period in professional baseball, and considering it was produced with a duplicate negative, the photo still presents with magnificent clarity and contrast. The photo measures 8 ½ x 6 ½ inches and presents with heavy period retouching for newspaper production purposes. There is a large section issing in the upper left, but the central image is intact. Good condition.
