Offered is an Elvis Presley cut signature signed at the "Captain Shreve Hotel" in Shreveport, Louisiana, while playing at The Louisiana Hayride in 1954. "Thanks, Elvis Presley" is penned neatly on the back of a piece of the hotel stationery. Elvis first performed live on show on October 16, 1954. On November 6th, Elvis returned to Shreveport and the Hayride with The Blue Moon Boys, Bill Black and Scotty Moore, and his parents Gladys and Vernon to sign a contract to appear on the show every Saturday evening for the next year. The accompanying letter reads: "I saw Elvis in 1954 in Shreveport, Louisiana when I was almost 12. My mom, dad, cousin, & I attended. After the concert we went back to the Capt Shreve Hotel where we were staying. The elevator guy told us what floor he was staying on and that the elevator wouldn't stop on his floor. We went to our rooms and then went down the stairs to his floor & he was standing in the hall. We were SO excited. I got a piece of stationary from the table on the floor & got his autograph. Had left my camera in my hotel room. He put his arm around my mother and she saved the blouse she had on. He told my mom she had two very pretty girls. Such a exciting time in my life for sure. I saw him several times when older in FT Worth & in Oklahoma City." Accompanied by LOA from Beckett Authentic.
