Offered is Sun Records 45 RPM single 210 with Elvis Presley's songs “Good Rockin' Tonight” and “I Don't Care if the Sun Don't Shine.” The songs were recorded at the Memphis Recording Service studios sometime between September 12 and 16 1954, and the single was released on September 22, 1954. The songwriter credit for "Good Rockin' Tonight" is errantly listed as "Ray Brown" instead of "Roy Brown," generally thought to indicate that this is an earlier pressing. Furthermore, after the matrix numbers in the dead wax, a delta symbol and three digit number were added, indicating that this was a pressing done by Monarch Record Manufacturing of Los Angeles, California. The symbol and numbers were part of their internal serial number system. This particular copy of the single also has the small, circular indentations in the labels on both sides, known as "Delta" or "Push Marks" by collectors. These are holes in the stamped vinyl created by the master stamper made from acetate struck on the Presto brand lathe Sam Phillips used at the time in his studio. The 45 measures 7 inches in diameter and presents with moderate scuffing and label wear. "Bill" is written on one lable and there is sticker residue and some very minor paper loss. Bold yellows and browns. VG conditon.
