Offered is a 1955 Malcom Yelvington (Early Rockabilly) 45RPM Single "Drinkin’ Wine Spo-Dee-O-Dee" / "Just Rolling Along" (SUN 211). After meeting Sam Phillips at Sun Records, Yelvington recorded this blues number written by Stick McGhee called "Drinkin' Wine Spo-Dee-O-Dee". The result was a record with blues roots and a blues feel but a steel guitar that sounded unmistakably country. This recording was issued immediately after Elvis Presley's "That's All Right Mama"--Sun 209, and subsequently received little promotional support from Phillips. Rough for Malcom, but with a paucity of sales, this is a real SUN rarity. GD condition.
