Offered are four 35MM photographs of Elvis Presley taken during an interview on the train from Nashville to Miami to film The Frank Sinatra Timex Show in March 1960. The TV special on the ABC Network starring Frank Sinatra and featuring Elvis in his first televised appearance following his military service in West Germany. The special, commonly known as Welcome Home Elvis, also featured Sammy Davis Jr., Joey Bishop, Peter Lawford, and Nancy Sinatra, who later starred with Elvis in his 1968 film Speedway.
While the interview was fairly well documented, these images appear to be unpublished, emanating from the family of a journalist in the south that was covering the event.
The back of each photo has handwritten notations including childlike attempts at Elvis' signature, as well as notes like "taken at interview by Uncle, March 58." Of course, this year designation was in error, as we know these were taken during the train interview in March 1960. The photos seemed to have been printed for the photographer's nieces. The 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 inch photos present with moderate to heavy wear, in some cases, with some paper loss and edge wear. That said, the contrast and clarity are superb. Very Good to Excellent condition overall with some just nicer.
