Offered are Elvis Presley's Screen Worn Pants from from his 1960 film Flaming Star. Elvis' character wears this color and style trousers through much of the film, and he appears shirtless in tan-colored pants in many of the advertisements and trailers for the movie. The beige pants with two front pockets, zip and button closure and two rear pockets, contain a stamp on an inside pocket that states, "Property of 20th Century Fox Studio Mens Wardrobe Dept." Additionally on the back inside waist is a 20th Century Fox label that contains the information: Job "A-837" (matching the film's production number), Date "8-60," Name "E. Presley," and Inv. "9-84-7-182" just above the "FOX" cleaning tag that has been stapled into the rear interior seam. These beige jean-style pants, measuring a 33-inch waist with a 31-inch inseam, are an iconic relic from this critical movie from Elvis' filmography, and are accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

In his 1960 role as Pacer Burton in the movie Flaming Star, Elvis stars opposite Barbara Eden in his critically acclaimed best acting performance. After his film G.Í. Blues, Elvis desired to be viewed as a serious actor so he reduced the number of songs in the film from the already few of four to only two. Released in December of 1960 by 20th Century Fox, just a month after the release of G.I. Blues, Flaming Star was not received with the success at the box office that G.I. Blues enjoyed. Flaming Star is the story of a rancher (Pacer Burton), whose mother is Kiowa and father is Texan, caught in a battle between two cultures and his loyalty to each. The film, with the working title Black Star, was based on the 1958 novel Flaming Lance by Clair Huffaker.

The pants are also accompanied by a letter from Charlie Hodge that reads in part

I was with Elvis on the set of Flaming Star at Fox Studios. It was exciting being on the set. Numerous people visited Elvis on set including Elvis' friend and fan club president from Memphis, Gary Pepper. When filming wrapped Elvis asked me to pack some of his things and asked me to give the tan pants he wore in the film to Gary once we got back in Memphis. In all the confusion arriving back at Graceland, I put the bag of items in a closet I used at Graceland and forgot about it. Elvis never mentioned it again and I never thought of it again. After Elvis was gone and I moved out of Graceland and found the pants. I've had these in my possession since that time."

The pants are also accompanied by several modern prints of Elvis wearing these or very similar pants from the film. The pants exhibit several areas of discoloration from wear and an area of darker staining on the reverse, which could have been caused by a holster belt. There is an area of wear on the right leg that roughly lines up with where the gun holster tie down would have crossed. Excellent condition.
