Dick Perez Pen and Ink and Pencil Artwork Collection

This auction presents an offering of 12 lots of legendary baseball artist Dick Perez's interesting and intimate pen and ink and pencil artworks. The group may present as a departure from what collectors usually expect to see from Dick's trademark style, so full of color. But these drawings see a quieter, more considered artist at work--searching for an essence, seeking to capture a subject in just the right light and mood. Enjoy this access to a unique group of special artworks from Dick Perez.

This group of Dick Perez original pen and ink drawings features seven different greats from the annals of Philadelphia baseball history, with both the Phillies and the Athletics represented. The group includes: Elmer Valo (Athletics, 1940-54), Granny Hamner (Phillies, 1944-59). The remaining five players were all members of the 1975 and 1976 Philladelphia Philllies: Johnny Oates, Terry Harmon, Jerry Martin, Ron Schueler and Tom Underwood. The larger artworks measure 9 x 12 inches, and the smaller are 6 10 inches. They presents in Near Mint to Mint condition overall.
