Offered is Elvis Presley's Owned and Played "Franciscan" classical acoustic guitar gifted to his friend Patti Parry. Elvis' Tour Manager Joe Esposito helped Parry arrange the sale of the guitar to Jimmy Velvet for display in his famous Elvis Presley Museum. The guitar is accompanied by "Elvis Presley Museum" COA signed by Jimmy Velvet, as well as a photo of Velvet with the guitar. Also included are signed letters attesting to the guitar's authenticity and provenance from Memphis Mafia Members Joe Esposito and Jerry Schilling.
Joe Esposito's letter on "Elvis Presley Museum" letterhead reads "This Franciscan guitar, model A580, was owned and played by Elvis Presley. Though it was not one that he played on stage, Elvis liked the feel of this guitar and carried it with him on tour to play back stage, in his room, on the "Lisa Marie" and at home. Elvis gave this guitar as a gift to Patty Parry. Patty was and is a close friend of mine and most of the entourage and a friend of Elvis' as well. Several years ago I called my friend Jimmy Velvet for Patty to see if he would like to buy the guitar for the Elvis Presley Museum and he did.
Jerry Schilling's letter on Graceland letterhead reads "This is to confirm that the Franciscan Acoustic Guitar model #A580 with case was given to Pat Parry by Elvis Presley."
The guitar shows signs of HEAVY use, with wear on the front and back of the body, with various scratches and scuff marks commensurate with being played repeatedly. Five of the six original strings are intact, and remnants of the sixth is wrapped around the machine head. Excellent condition overall.
