Offered is Elvis Presley stage worn orange silk scarf given to country music star Johnny Tillotson at a concert at the Las Vegas Hilton. This scarf, more akin to Elvis' personal wardrobe in the late 60's and early 70s, was most-likely used in the very early 1970s during the time when he and Tillotson were both performing in Las Vegas. While Elvis rarely gave out his personal wardrobe silk scarves from the stage in the earliest days of performing in Las Vegas, Tillotson specifically noted in his personal archives that the scarf was "stage worn."

Elvis recorded Johnny''s hit "It Keeps Right On A Hurtin" for the album From Elvis In Memphis--it was one of the great honors of Johnny''s career. The two first met at an Elvis concert in Jacksonville, Florida in 1957 (see image at right), and Johnny regularly performed in Las Vegas during the 1970s. The scarf is accompanied by a letter from Tillotson''s wife attesting to its provenance.

On several recordings of Las Vegas Hilton concerts, Elvis can be heard introducing Johnny in the audience. One such occasion, Elvis points out Johnny during a show on February 16, 1973. The scarf measures 56 inches long and tapers from 6 inches in width at its widest. It presents with no distresses besides storage folds, but there are a few light stains. Near Mint condition.
