Offered is Elvis Presley stage worn purple scarf given to country music star Johnny Tillotson at a concert at the Las Vegas Hilton. Purple is a VERY UNUSUAL and lesser-seen color among Elvis' stage-worn scarves. This scarf was most-likley used in 1974 and produced in that period, being a silk/polyester blend. Elvis recorded Johnny''s hit "It Keeps Right On A Hurtin" for the album From Elvis In Memphis--it was one of the great honors of Johnny''s career. The two first met at an Elvis concert in Jacksonville, Florida in 1957 (see image at right), and Johnny regularly performed in Las Vegas during the 1970s. The scarf is accompanied by a letter from Tillotson''s wife attesting to its provenance.

On several recordings of Las Vegas Hilton concerts, Elvis can be heard introducing Johnny in the audience. One such occasion, Elvis points out Johnny during a show on February 16, 1973. The scarf measures 34 1/2 x 35 1/2 inches inches and presents with no distresses besides storage folds. Near Mint condition.
