Offered is an Elvis Presley Stage Worn Scarf handed to a fan from the stage in August 1973 in at The Las Vegas Hilton. The white scarf is a silk and polyester blend used by Elvis in the period, referred to as an "interim scarf." The scarf was given to a fan named Mary Lou who had traveled to Las Vegas from Arizona with her sister Joan in the summer of '73 for their annual trip to see Elvis. Her extensive letter describing the night she received the scarf from Elvis is included. it reads in part:

When Mary Lou arrived to Elvis' second show with her sister, Emilio (maitre d' at The Hilton showroom) waved them to the front of the line and escorted them to the front row seats. Once Elvis came on stage he was so close you could touch him. That's exactly what Mary Lou intended on doing. During his performance, Elvis wiped the sweat off his bow with the white scarf around his neck. Mary Lou likes to think he started to sing "Love Me Tender" right as he locked eyes with her. He slowly walked to the edge of the stage and knelt down right in front of her. This wasn't Mary Lou's first time, she knew exactly what this meant. She rushed over to him and he gave her a kiss on the lips. He took that white scarf right off his neck and put it in Mary Lou's hands.

Also included is a small, round souvenir menu used during that 1973 August-September Summer Festival at the Hilton as well as a small snapshot of Elvis in the period wearing his "1973 American Eagle" jumpsuit, which he did wear several times during that summer's shows. The scarf measures 35 x 36 1/2 inches and presents with small areas of discoloration which could be attributed to sweat and/or makeup. There is one area of staining from storage. Excellent condition.
