Offered is Elvis Presley's Personal Copy of the paperback biography Jim Brown by Stan Isaacs. The subtitle of the book is "The Golden Year - 1964 - when the Greatest Running Back of Pro-Football led the Cleveland Browns to the NFL Title." The book was gifted to Elvis' cousin Patsy Presley, to whom he gave a great many things during the many years she worked in the offices at Graceland. Patsy later sold the book to noted collector Tom Salva--his letter accompanies. Elvis' love of football is a well known part of his story. From his teenage days all the way through the 1970s, pickup football games were a treasured part of Elvis' free time recreation. His three-TV setup in the basement was so he could watch multiple football games at once. Elvis met Jim Brown on several occasions, and Brown once complimented Elvis and his knowledge of football: "The unique thing about a different celebrity talking about football, is that it never comes across as really real. But with ELVIS, it was like one football player talking to another because he understood on that level. And that made it very good for me because I could say things to him that I would not be able to say to a novice." High praise, indeed! The paperback measures 7 x 4 1/4 inches and shows moderate to heavy use from reading. Excellent to Mint condition.
