The offered agreement is signed by Hollywood legend Mae West. The August 10, 1951, contract allows producer George Brandt to present the play Diamond Lil, which West owned the rights to at the time. The play was put on at Montreal's Gayety Theatre for several weeks that year. West's 1928 play, Diamond Lil, about a racy, easygoing, and ultimately very smart lady of the 1890s, became a Broadway hit and cemented West's image in the public's eye. This show had an enduring popularity and West successfully revived it many times throughout the course of her career. This hit show's initial run is what garnered the attention of Hollywood , and it helped launch her film career. Accompanied by a COA from Beckett Authentic. The agreement measures 8 1/2 x 11 inches and presents with punch holes from filing and a little toning. Near Mint condition.
