Offered are two pages of Miley Cyrus and Billy Ray Cyrus Handwritten and Signed Lyrics for the latter's song "Ready, Set, Don't Go." Our consignor was the producer on the recording session for the duet version of the single with both Billy Ray and Miley, and his letter of authenticity accompanies. The first sheet is in Billy Ray's hand, and is inscribed and signed to the producer: "To Fred....you put the F in Family....and so many other words....We Love Ya! Billy Ray Cyrus."
"Ready, Set, Don't Go" was released as the lead single from Home at Last, Billy Ray's tenth studio album. The song has received different interpretations, although, in actuality, Cyrus wrote the song several years before its release when Miley moved to Los Angeles in order to pursue an acting career with an audition for the Disney Channel Original Series Hannah Montana. After its initial release, a duet version of "Ready, Set, Don't Go" enjoyed much more commercial success than the original version due to Miley's soaring popularity. It ascended to number 40 on the Hot 100, becoming Billy Ray's first top 40 hit since his debut single "Achy Breaky Heart." The producer on the track remembers it in our LOA:
I produced the album Home at Last for Disney records when I was working there as the head of A&R in 2006 into 2007. I worked closely with Billy Ray, especially on the hit single “Ready Set Don’t Go”. I had the distinct pleasure to oversee the overdubs that Miley Cyrus did to make it a duet. I remember bringing the handwritten lyrics from our session back to my place in Los Angeles as a bit of a souvenir.
Both sheets measure 8 1/2 x 11 inches and present with expected wear from handling in the studio. Also included are three "Hannah Montana" promotional photos, with facsimile signatures of Miley Cyrus. Excellent to Mint condition. Accompanied by LOA from Rockhurst Auctions.
