Offered is Norm Cash's "200 Home Run Club" certificate from "The American and National Leagues of Professional Baseball." The award lists "August 15, 1966," the day Norm hit his 200th homer, and notes that he was "the 63rd player in history to achieve this distinction." Both Commissioners have signed at the bottom, Joe Cronin and Warren Giles. These award certificates are RARELY SEEN outside of personal player collections. The cert is in a metal frame with no glass and has several areas of staining and scuffing. Very Good to Excellent condition.

The Norm Cash Collection

Rockhurst Auctions is proud to present The Norm Cash Collection. All the items in this collection emanate directly from the estate of Norm Cash. Norm spent 15 of his 17 seasons with the Detroit Tigers. He was part of the 1968 World Series Champion Detroit Tigers, a five-time All Star, and the 1961 batting champion who hit .361 finishing more than thirty points ahead of the number two batter. At the time of his retirement, Norm's 377 career home runs were the fourth most by an American League left-handed hitter behind Babe Ruth, Ted Williams and Lou Gehrig--nice list, huh? His 373 home runs with the Tigers is tied for second in franchise history with Miguel Cabrera, behind Al Kaline. An apt description of Norm , from the SABR project, is "a larger than life first baseman from Texas who lived, drank, and played hard, sang country and western in the clubhouse, and could be depended upon in clutch situations." Each lot is accompanied by LOA from the Norm Cash Estate. We hope you enjoy the collection.
