Offered is a screen-worn ensemble from legendary comedic actor Phyllis Diller. The ensemble emanates from Diller's estate, and was worn on the 1986 Showtime cable TV comedy special Jonathan Winters: On the Edge. Diller wore the costume in a sketch with Winters and legendary comedian, “Mr. Television” himself, Milton Berle.
Included is a modern print of a photo showing Diller wearing the offered ensemble on the television special—the pattern of her blouse can be clearly seen to match. The skirt tag reads “CUSTOM MADE BY Julie Richter,” and the wig tag reads “Eva Gabor / Designed by Jose of Rome.” The ensemble is accompanied by copies of the cover and listing page from the 2013 auction of her estate. The photo is a classic characiture of Diller signed boldly across the bottom. The orignal auction tag is still attached to the bouse. Near Mint condition overall.
