Offered is an RIAA Gold Record Award for The Beatles 1969 single "Get Back." The single was released in April 1969, and the RIAA certified it Gold on May 19, 1969. The offered white matte style award was produced at the time of certification. The song came from the legendary January 1969 recording sessions at the brand new Apple Studios that created the tracks for the LP Let it Be (and the origins of a number of songs from Abbey Road). As seen in detail in the recent documentary, Get Back, the arrival of Billy Preston refocused The Beatles during the sessions--made them sit up straight and buckle down, as it were. The mood and creative urgency of the band snapped into shape, and the five musicians started to really groove. "Get Back" was the first song to emerge from these sessions as a single, and because of Preston's impact, it was credited as "The Beatles with Billy Preston"--the Beatles' only single that credited another artist at their request. The single reached number one in the United Kingdom, the United States, Ireland, Canada, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Australia, France, West Germany, Mexico, Norway, Switzerland, Austria, and Belgium.  The plaque on the offered award reads "Presented to THE BEATLES to Commemorate the Sale of More Than One Million Copies of the APPLE RECORDS Pop Single Record 'GET BACK.'" The award measures 13 ¼ x 17 ¼ inches and presents with only the most mild wear to the wooden frame. Stunning Near Mint to Mint condition.
