Offered are a pair of satin pants worn by Ricky Nelson during his appearance at the October 15, 1971, Rock 'n Roll Spectacular Volume VII concert at Madison Square Garden. They are accompanied by a photo of Nelson wearing them backstage and a letter of authenticity signed by his daughter, actor Tracy Nelson, indicating they were custom made and "Worn at Madison Square Garden, 1971." That makes these the pants that were worn AT THE ACTUAL "GARDEN PARTY!"
It's a well-known story that Nelson felt like the crowd was booing him for playing his more modern songs during his set at The Garden in 1971, prompting him to write the song "Garden Party". The song's thinly-veiled references to the concert, its other participants and attendees like Chuck Berry, John Lennon and Yoko Ono and the crowd's cool reception of Nelson's music ironically made it his first Top 40 Hit in some time, and his last. The pants are also accompanied by a signed copy of the 1972 LP. Accompanied by hologram sticker from Beckett Authentic. Pant shows signs of moderate to heavy use but no damage. Near Mint condition.
