The offered Type I original news service photo was used on page 42 of the August 27, 1933 morning edition of The St. Louis Post-Dispatch to illustrate a story about Babe Ruth's dissatisfaction with the New York Yankees and his lack of playing time during the 1933 baseball season. The article's headline and caption read “Ready for the Armchair and the Slippers? Babe Ruth, whose old props have been keeping him out of the game from time to ttime this year and who told a Post-Dispatch reporter recently that he would not seek another contract next year if he felt that he would be merely a pinch hitter, or part-time player.” Accompanied by a Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA. The photo measures 7 ½ x 9 ½ inches and presents with newsroom editorial markings, some corner and edge wear and it's orignal published clipping still attached. Excellent to Mint condition.
