Both Encapsulated PSA/DNA TYPE 1. Offered are two 1936 original news service photos of Babe Ruth while visiting Yankees spring training in St. Petersburg, Florida. The Associated Press photograph maintains its original paper caption and AP back stamping which dates to the 1930s. The caption reads in part “A LITTLE GIFT FROM BABE. St. Petersburg, FLA. Mar. 16 – While here to see his former teammates, The New York Yankees, go through spring training drills, Babe Ruth presented students of the Florida Military Academy a Jenny Mule—for a mascot.” The second photo shows Ruth in the same outfit, with a bat in hand on his way to the plate, most-likely at the same academy, as he is surrounded by what appear to be military students at some sort of non-professional ball field. One can only imagine what Ruth did to the pitch from the local boy, even in his white suit! The AP photograph measures 7 x 9 inches and presents with some minor waviness but no other major distresses. Near Mint condition.
