Offered is a 1942 Pride of the Yankees half sheet movie poster, starring Gary Cooper and Babe Ruth as himself. The film was produced by Samuel Goldwyn, directed by Sam Wood, and along with Ruth and Cooper, starred Teresa Wright, and Walter Brennan, who also appear in this photo. It is a tribute to the legendary New York Yankees first baseman Lou Gehrig, who died only one year before its release, at age 37, from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, which later became known to the lay public as "Lou Gehrig's disease". The poster measures 28 x 22 inches and presents with two large fold lines, some scuffing and minor stains. Framed. Excellent condition.
