Offered is a 1956 35mm contact sheet of 16 photographs by Albert Wertheimer of Elvis Presley on July 4, 1956, on his Harley Davidson motorcycle in front of his home on Audobon Drive. One of Wertheimer's most iconic images of Elvis is from this shoot, but these are 16 OTHER shots from those moments. He's signing autographs, looking over the Harley and there are even a few long shots of the whole scene which are fascinating. Wertheimer hung with Elvis for several days in New York City for The Steve Allen Show, and an RCA recording session before accompanying Elvis for the trip home to Memphis afterwards. Elvis gave several fans short rides on his motorcycle, and then he and Wertheimer took off for a long ride on which they ran out of gas! There are some incredible shots here of those moments when Elvis was just becoming "ELVIS". The previous two lots are also Wertheimer period contact sheets that record The Steve Allen Show and the RCA session, respectively. The offered sheet measures 8 x 10 inches and presents with period "ALFRED WERTHEIMER" and "TOPIX" news photo service stampings on the reverse. Near Mint condition.
