The offered "Wide World Photos" original news service photo captures Elvis Presley employing his iconic snarl while greeting fans as he arrives to start filming his first film, Love Me Tender. He landed on August 16, 1956, to begin work on what was then titled The Reno Brothers. The original paper caption is included and reads "Elvis (The Pelvis) Presley is mobbed by more than 2,000 bobby soxers at Los Angeles International Airport last night (Thursday) when he arrived for his first motion picture orle, playing a straight dramatic part in the 20th Century-Fox production, 'The Reno Brothers.'" "Presley for President" was a Colonel Tom Parker concoction in 1956, and one fan gladly holds the picket helping create a memorable scene.
