The offered "International News Photos" original news service photograph features Elvis Presley from the infamous and ill-fated "Hungerford Furniture" photoshoot on December 12, 1956. The Memphis-based furniture company employed the rising local star to promote their "Young Modern" furniture line in early 1957. The furniture idea flopped, but the offered promotional photo made its way into the news service world via "International News Photos" and the "Central Press Association". Both news services' stamps are on the reverse, along with "Dec 24 1956." TO OUR KNOWLEDGE, THIS IS THE ONLY PERIOD COPY OF A PHOTO FROM THAT PHOTOSHOOT. The photo measures 7 1/2 x 9 1/2 inches and presents in Near Mint condition.
